Mint Paratha/ Pudhina Paratha

Mint leaves are also a kind of greens that has many nutrition values like all other herbs. They  add a nice essence to the dish which we add. If we want kids to have them without just picking them out from the dish, then this is the best way. Mint Paratha.

Ingredients :

Wheat flour - 1 cup
Yogurt - 1/4 cup
Salt - as per taste
Water for the dough

To Grind :

Mint leaves - A bunch
Onion-1 small
Green chilli - 1
Ginger - 1tsp chopped

Method :

1.   Grind the items under 'To Grind' list to a smooth paste.
2.   Mix the wheat flour along with yogurt and the ground paste to form a soft pliable dough by using water for kneading.
3.   Let the dough rest for 15 mins.
4.   Now divide the dough into equal lemon sized balls. Start spreading them with a rolling pin into equal thickness. Make sure the roti is not too thin as it might get harder with time.
5.    Heat a tawa and toast the roti on both sides until it gets cooked.

My Notes :
  • We can also chop the mint leaves and add them directly to the dough.
  • Add chilli powder and garam masala in the dough for special flavor.
  • I add yogurt for any variety of chapathi as it makes them soft. We can also substitute it with milk.
