LOW FAT CUMIN COOKIES

I have not been into baking much as it needs exact measurement cups and also most of the recipes need lots of sugar and butter.

But finally came across this recipe of low fat cookie from Sharmi’s blog. I just did some modifications according to my taste.
So here goes the recipe.

Ingredients :

Wheat flour – 1cup
Almonds – 2tsp
Cashew nuts – 2 tsp
Baking powder – a pinch
Cumin seeds – 1tsp
Pepper powder – 2tsp
Olive oil – 4tsp
Milk – ¼ cup
Salt – to taste

Method:

Add the almonds and cashew nuts to a blender and grind it to a coarse powder.
Mix all the ingredients along with the almond cashew nut powder.

Add milk and knead it to a stiff consistency.
Now make balls out of the dough and press them to about 2mm thickness.

Place the cookies on a tray. I used an aluminium foil over the tray.

Preheat the oven to 200C for 10 mins. Now bake the cookies in the oven for 20      mins. See that the bottom portion of the cookie turns light golden brown.

Allow them to cool. Store them in an air tight container.

My Notes:

While placing the cookies in the oven, greasing the tray is not really mandatory.

You can also add any nuts like walnuts or pistachios.
